Disk Defragmenter

The Disk Defragmenter utility is used to eradicate file fragmentation.

To use the Disk Defragmenter utility, perform the following steps:

1. Click Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter to open the Disk Defragmenter window.
2. Select the desired drive and click on the Analyze button.
3. After Analyzing the drive, the Disk Defragmenter utility prompts you whether the drive needs defragmentation.
4. Close all the running programs, disconnect from the internet, and click the Defragment button to start disk defragmentation

To schedule the Disk Defragmenter, perform the following steps:

1. Click Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter to open the Disk Defragmenter window.
2. Click on Configure schedule 
3. Select the Frequency, Day, Time & Disks to schedule the Defragmenter.

Consider a scenario where a customer who suspects that the computer is infected with the virus because it is running slow. After removing the virus, the customer still complains that the system is running slow. In this case, it is recommended to use the Disk Defragmenter utility to improve the computer’s performance.
